Limited Edition #1

Today in my wanderings, I came across two new products that I wanted to try. I was a little apprehensive, but I soon found that both items were quite good. The first is a new product from Hershey's -- Coconut Creme Kisses. The Coconut Creme Kisses come in a very nice spring package, and I found it with the Easter candy, so I'm not sure if this is a seasonal item? Either way, they are very good. They are chocolate covered (so not white chocolate) with a light coconut creme filling. Though the Cherry Cordial Kisses are still my favorite, these are very high on my list. The wrapper is also really cute, a dark ultramarine blue foil with light blue swirls and a tag with the word "coconut" printed in dark blue.

The second item I tried is the new Cherry Chocolate Diet Dr. Pepper. I REALLY wish they had this in regular Dr. Pepper. I think it would taste a little better, but in terms of diet soda, this is the best diet Dr. Pepper flavor out there in my opinion. The aroma is wonderful, the cherry flavor is strong, and the chocolate flavor, though probably artificial, is still present in a surprising way. I expected it to be a lot worse than it was, and as an added bonus, if you buy the 20 fl. oz. bottled version, there is a $1 off coupon for another bottle of Dr. Pepper! The soda is actually red, not brown, and I think because it is diet, it has a sour after taste, but I think this is the only diet soda I would ever try again. I highly recommend it to those cherry chocolate fans!

Harvest Moon

As I was searching for images to use in the lectures I was preparing, I happened across this beautiful image. This is one of the best lunar images I have ever seen, so I had to share it! The original post can be seen here.

Mocafe Precious Divinity Spiced Chai

I am by no means a chai expert or connoisseur, but after doing a quick online search and discovering that people are raving about Mocafe's new spiced chai mix, I had to post this review. On most sites, the 2lb canister retails for about $17.50-$22.00, but you can get it at Sam's Club for about $6.95. I have always been a die-hard Oregon Chai fan, but as this seemed to me a much better deal (more than 2x more for 3/4 the price) I decided I would try it. Bad idea. It doesn't taste like anything and leaves a greasy feeling in your mouth. It claims to be low fat, but the 2nd ingredient is coconut oil, and there are 3 different kinds of sugars (Hawaiian cane, corn syrup, AND sugar!) I tried desperately to doctor it up with my own set of spices, but it didn't work. Their "wonderful" assortment of fats brings the saturated fat total to a whopping 20% dv, and 6% unsaturated fat in just 2 teaspoons of chai mix! Oregon chai has 0% fat. If you make it in skim milk as I do, or in water, that is one thing, but then throw in whole milk like most do, as I am sure, then your fat content goes through the roof! Why settle for a product that is so high in fat and has no flavor? So in my opinion, just suck it up and spend more for less of a higher quality product, I assure you your mind, spirit, and arteries will thank you.

Hungry Wake Up Kitty

First Art Post

Okay, well I decided to break in my new blog with some DeviantArt work that matches my Blogger site! This piece is titled "Centaur Girl" and it is by Quark777 (how fitting!) I think it's really cute! If you do not agree with artistic nudity, then I would recommend that you not visit this blog because it might be displayed here from time to time. This is a perfect example of what I am talking about. But isn't it cute?! I wish I could draw like that... I think this was done digitally, which impresses me even more. I can barely use Photoshop. Speaking of which... I need a new version of Photoshop and Illustrator! (c) Quark777, DeviantArt, 2006-2007.
